Please Educate Thyself! Regarding Politics and Nonsense...

An email sent to all of my address book this morning, and now here for the world (or all 3 of my readers) to see!

I am SO tired of the emails making claims like "Obama is a muslim!" "Obama is going to bring terrorists here if he's elected!"

I guess it goes without saying that these are normally sent by people who get the majority of their political info from something that starts with "FWD:"

Before you forward this stuff on, PLEASE check into the background of it. If you can't bring yourself to sit through the news and follow ongoing campaign coverage, at least take a couple of minutes to google it, or go to a reputable news web site...or even the candidates' web sites.

If you can't tell, I've become engrossed in this election. Debates, campaign researching, even party fund raisers have become a night out for me!

For those of you who have known me for a while, that probably comes as a shock, lol...I used to be the most passive person ever about politics. However, after the last 8 years of nonsense, and looking at where our country is now, I think everyone should take an active interest for sure. (Please?)

If you regularly forward these, please check out this site, a division of Obama's campaign: http://fightthesmears.com/

PS: Although I am obviously a supporter of Obama, I encourage you to choose WHICHEVER candidate you prefer! I just want people to make INFORMED decisions, not decisions based on rumors and nonsense. Just educate yourself before you vote!

*steps off soapbox*

XOXOHeather

And just for fun, Obama cracked me up in the following video (1st one). I haven't yet watched McCain's speech (listed 2nd) but I heard he was pretty entertaining too! It's fun for me to see that they are real people and can poke fun at themselves and each other in a friendly fashion, and be real people. ;)
